About Us
People’s Imports started out in a tiny storefront with a unique collection of tribal rugs. Originally called “RUGS FOR EVERYONE”, our intent was to offer handmade, one-of-a- kind rugs that were authentic and affordable. Later, we were offered a collection of museum-quality African sculptures and expanded our intention to include craft works of diverse tribal cultures.
In 2004, People’s Imports moved into a large, historic, warehouse where we could display our growing collection of rugs, furniture, textiles, toys, jewelry and more.
We hunt for unique objects as we travel, and we buy from tribal agents and suppliers. We buy crafts made by refugees in camps and support fair trade practices.
